This week has held many challenges for me… I have been waiting on some results from a doctor appointment I had last week (Tuesday) and my co-worker has been off work because her husband suddenly was in the hospital because of stomach bleeding.
Now, I will admit that I am not a fan of going to the doctor. As I am getting older, the doctors have found many reasons for me to visit them. And although I am not a fan, I will go when I think of it as for the good of my family that I stay healthy. I believe because of my dad being in a wheelchair and seeing so much in my youth made me more fearful. That is my theory anyway. At the VA hospital where my dad spent a lot of time, vets from Vietnam were there without arms and legs… it seemed like hell to me.
I am sorry that my co-worker’s husband has had to deal with so much this week. I am glad that she is there to support him. When she is gone, I can really feel her absence. We are “doing more with less” and so when the “less” is less… it is really LESS. (OK… I will stop my complaining now)
I am taking Friday (tomorrow off) to go to the Tacoma Dome to see Joyce Meyers teach. She is a TV bible teacher who is on all times of the day. You may have seen her yourself. She is remarkable to me… close to being 70 yrs old. She could retire but she wants to teach others (mostly to women) about living the Christian life. I will probably have more to say on Monday about my seeing her, so I will put a pin in it now.
Speaking of taking time off… I have been working on my vacation plans for the summer. It hasn’t been easy figuring it all out but it is exciting. My plans involve driving to Montana and going mining for sapphires. (Bet you didn’t see that coming; did you?)
I understand we will be having a solar eclipse on May 20th. The best place to see it will be in So CA. We will be experiencing it (if we have sunshine and not cloud cover). I read that we will not be able to see the “ring of fire” though. I will look forward to seeing the photos they take of it.
Well, I will leave you for now. Have a good weekend!
I hope your test results come back good! I understand having to "do more with less" when it comes to coworkers being off for one reason or another (I do hope your coworker husband gets better soon!). We have all been there at sometime or another.
ReplyDeleteI think that would be a great vacation - not too many people can say they have been mining. I know I can't!
Have a great week my friend.
