Wall Decor

One of the hardest things for me to do when decorating is to make a large wall look good.  I have one in the living room of my place... and I want to make it look really nice.  So I have been looking for ideas.  The ceiling is high in the middle of the room and there is a pot belly stove to work around.

I thought that I might try a wall decal of a tree on one end but then I decided the chimney of the stove would be in the way... and on the other side of the wall there is a door and the smoke detector.  There is also a crowning mid way up the wall.  (I think that is what it is called)

However, I liked the idea of a decal so I bought a smaller decal anyway from a place from back east in North Carolina.  I decided a chocolate brown would be the best for that room.  I also decided that I would go with the tree theme since the room has a country or western way about it.

When I got it we decided the best place for it was on the center wall.  It was too small for the bigger wall but perfect for this wall between the living room and the kitchen.  Here is the photo I took after putting it up.

I really like it where it is.  I will try to get a photo of the whole wall after I move some photos around.  One thing that turned out was the color with my oak wall clock. 

One thing I wasn't able to do when I was married was decorate the way I wanted.  So I am having fun discovering again my tastes and doing things the way I like to do them.  That's one good thing, right?
